The BDC Nutcracker Story

ACT I - THE DANCE CLASS

The BDC Nutcracker begins with a dancer named Clara. It is the very last day of winter dance classes at BDC. As Clara walks to class she catches glimpses of magical animals in the forest, but her friends arrive and usher her into the dance studio. The teacher arrives, Maestra Petipa, and class begins. Clara loves to dance but today it is hard to pay attention today. Her mind wanders, class ends and she walks outside into the most beautiful rain. This is no ordinary storm. Clara gets swept up in the dance of the Queen of the Raindrops!

ACT II - THE MAGICAL QUEENDOM OF THE GRAND FOREST

Clara finds herself deep in the Grand Forest where she is welcomed by the Queen of the Wildflowers. All the inhabitants of her queendom come to dance for Clara. The Forest Bunny Fairies lead bunnies in their dance. The Frog Rock Fairy and Ladybug fairy lead the tree frogs and ladybugs in a special dance. Eagles and Deer dance. The Orca Queens, Deer Queens and Hummingbirds dance. Then the Queen of the Wildflowers and the Wildflower Fairy bring all the wildflowers to life and they sweep Clara up in a joyous waltz. Sadly it is time to say goodbye and goodnight to the Queens, Fairies and all the animals. Clara becomes very tired. As her eyes close she falls into a gentle sleep. When she wakes, she is home in her cozy bed. She looks out the window she wonders….was it all just a dream?
